Hannah Helmke had the opportunity of experiencing American entrepreneurship firsthand in 2019 through the International Visitor Leadership Program of the US State Department:
“On that trip and I learned that US entrepreneurs are not afraid of sharing ideas at an early stage. Structures for collaboration between academia and companies are also very sophisticated and established, which is particularly relevant for a topic such as climate change.”
She is very grateful to have been selected for the award and for the support it provides:
“Climate change is a truly global challenge and both Germany and the US have a crucial role to play in making a future below two degrees possible. I feel very honored to receive this award and hope that it will provide opportunities to exchange with business leaders on how to measure and manage the alignment of business activities with the <2°C-target.“
